Left Hand Brewing Event

While this was at least over a week ago I wanted to lightly touch on the Left Hand event at Bottle Mixx and the Chainsaw Ale.

The evening started out with a greeting at the tasting table from the local Left hand Brewing rep Sara who was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. After a brief discussion she led us through the beers they had available for tasting such as The Blackjack Porter, Stranger American Pale Ale, Sawtooth Ale, and the Polestar Pilsner.

After the tasting, Sara loaded us up with some awesome Left Hand goodies and we proceeded to the main bar for the Chainsaw Ale. The Chainsaw Ale is a 9% ABV, Extra Special / Strong Bitter and is a limited release from Left Hand. The color was a nice soft amber with a light white head. The nose was that of a light toffee/caramel variety. The overall taste was appealing with a hint of malt/toffee, and a spicy nut that I couldn’t identify. The finish was mild and slightly citric to me, which rounded out the whole package. All in all, this is a tasty little brew and hopefully I can get my hands on it again in the future.

So after that I grabbed some Nitro Milk Stout and a bottle of the very limited “Wake Up Dead” which I will hopefully get into very soon, and with that called it a night.
