Raleigh Brewing Company

There is no mistaking it, the beer scene in Raleighwood is booming and on March 9th Raleigh Brewing Company joined in on the fun. We couldn’t resist something shiny and new so we jumped in the car and shot down to the brewery.

Doors opened up around 5, but we didn’t arrive until closer to 6 and not surprising the line was out the door and around the building.  We didn’t have to wait long though as the folks at RBC had a great system in place when it came to checking IDs and advanced purchasing of tickets for beer, so in no time flat we were in the door and in line for the bar. After another short wait we got our beers and found an area to settle into for our first sampling of RBC’s wares.

We got our hands on the following brews:raleigh brewing board

  • “House of Clay” Rye IPA
  • “Hell Yes Ma’am” Belgian Style Golden
  • “Uncommon Curiosity” Lager
  • “City of Blokes” Bitter
  • “Pot of Gold” Stout

Unfortunately we arrived a bit too late and the Agent Orange (an American Wheat brewed with Blood Orange peels) had already kicked. We did however get a chance to stick around for the cask which was a “City of Blokes” Bitter with Kent Goldings hops.

Our first impressions of all the brews were very positive (The Rye IPA especially stuck out to us) and many of the brews are getting positive reviews from Raleigh locals on Untappd. The taproom is quite roomy which i can imagine will see its share of live music, but they also seem to have run of the large space outside as well for the overflow or when you just want to enjoy the upcoming warm evenings.

We very much enjoyed our first trip to Raleigh Brewing are hoping to make it back within the next couple of weeks to have another tasting and this time we will take the trusty notepads. Of course we encourage you to support the local beer scene and head over to Raleigh Brewing to have a taste for yourself.

Cheers
